Target Audiences
Predominantly
aimed at people under 30, the supported tours are marketed
to attract people not normally attending performances
of the music promoted. Typically, live performances
will be encouraged in clubs, musical fusions in venues
generally associated with live bands, and tours of familiar
musics with unfamiliar instrumentation in unusual contexts.
Special consideration will also
be given to tours which can include performances that
are accessible to under 18s.
In keeping with the various requirements
of the funding streams we apply to, in order to offer
these grants, we also require help in producing a report
on the success of the tours which the Breaking Borders
scheme supports. This will usually involve the promoter
in recording the attendances, ticket sales and dominant
audience profiles for each performance.
